Helen has a background in acting and coaching, with an MA in actor training from the Central School of Speech and Drama. She worked as a professional actor for 12 years.
As a creative director, she has extensive experience ensuring clients’ needs are met by creating content that resonates and has an impact. Clarity, openness, and connection are her guiding principles when working on projects.
She has designed bespoke courses, film projects, and additional resources for Enact with hugely successful results. These include relationship management, a course that focuses on building better working relationships and strategies for collaborative communication. National Grid ESO has commissioned this course to be rolled out as part of their mandatory training. Helen has also led the design and development of our challenging sexual harassment course. This session includes powerful dramatic content and robust research on how organizations can prevent sexual harassment.
A key part of Helen’s role is to work closely with our actors and facilitators. She brings her experience as an actor and acting coach to the rehearsal room, ensuring a supportive environment where everyone has a voice and feels valued. She also works as an acting tutor at Act Up North, an actor training company based in Liverpool, Manchester, and Leeds.
Helen lives in Yorkshire with her partner Lawrence, stepdaughter Kitty, and demanding but beautiful cat Fred. When she isn’t perfecting her curated meadow garden or refining the recipe for ramen, she can be found walking in the dales or being the manager for her friendship group (everyone needs one!).
